You will be joining the Supply team with colleagues from different nationalities and working in multiple different locations across the world.. General Summary

This position works under general direction and is primarily responsible for the requisitioning, purchasing and expediting of a wide variety of production-related materials.


Principal Duties And Responsibilities (* = Essential Functions)

  1. * Places and expedites materials supporting the production plan consistent with local or global Sourcing procedures.
  2. * Ensures compliance to formulated planning and purchasing strategies, policies and procedures.
  3. * Maintains vendor master data including info records for cross-company trade.
  4. Books and tracks transportation of materials. 
  5. Follows-up on placed orders with regard to goods receipt completion to ensure timely delivery.
  6. Reports any issues with raw material deliveries in a timely manner to the production planner.
  7. Manages the procurement process to optimize inventory turns and coverage in accordance with established goals.
  8. Participates in local and/or global tasks and projects that enhance performance measures.
  9. Identifies continuous improvements of materials procurement process utilizing Lean principles where applicable.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Ability to read, write and speak English.
  2. Possess a working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs and SAP.
  3. Ability to make decisions on material orders for the production facility.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate information, both orally and written, and respond to questions from managers, customers, vendors and other employees in a professional manner.  This would include communicating with global colleagues.
  5. Knowledge of procurement process and standard operating procedures.
  6. These characteristics are normally acquired through a Bachelors degree program with at least one year experience in procurement of goods in a manufacturing environment.


Working Conditions

Working environment is generally favorable and in an office setting.  Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate.  Domestic and international travel will be required between 10-25% of the time.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, keyboard and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
