We are recruiting for a position of Senior RTR Accountant to join our team, based in our office in Warsaw. This role is a solid contributor on Oterra’s RTR process, journal entries, accruals, and payroll postings, reconciling accounts in the accounting system, performing intercompany funding payments, proceed with month-end closing activities as well as timely, effective, and delicate handling of queries from stakeholders within Oterra Finance, Oterra wider organization and external stakeholders to the company. Further, the role is responsible for establishing and continuously improving processes and work instructions within area based on deep subject matter expertise, and on supervising and training team members within these areas. The role is based at Oterra’s financial Shared Services Center in Warsaw, Poland and reports directly to Tower Lead of RTR Team.

 

Role and Responsibilities: 

•    Posting journal entries, accruals, and payroll postings as well as ad-hoc requests
•    Responsible for managing fixed assets
•    Provide VAT reporting, reconciliation of VAT accounts & registers
•    Support in the obligatory reporting to the local authorities
•    Reconciling accounts in the accounting system based on the agreed criteria per the account type and actively share knowledge across RTR colleagues to ensure the high-quality standards are applied across the entire team
•    Prepare, deliver, and coordinate with other finance teams interim and annual audit specifications for the RTR area of responsibility on time and in line with CAS list requirements including answering all queries back from auditors for auditors to be able to complete their full audit procedures
•    Being on top of own entities balance sheets, always knowing the activities behind the balance sheet items and preparing ongoing specifications and reconciliations that are fully documented
•    Act as the key user for the daily monitoring of the clearing accounts assigned to the RTR transactions, reconciling them and proceed with the clearing
•    Coordination of internal and external statutory financial statements audit 
•    Subject matter expert on selected parts of the RTR process as well as cross-teams finance initiatives, leading problem-solving, process improvements, establishment of work instructions and collaborating on issues within area of responsibility with Team Lead and process excellence specialists within and outside Finance
•    Continuously onboard, train, upskill and supervise colleagues within subject matter expertise area
•    Consistently setting the standard for superior handling of stakeholder queries 
•    Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounting information as relevant
•    Responsible for monthly and annual closing processes for relevant RTR related accounts
•    Drive automation initiatives in SAP within area as adequate, e.g., related to RTR reporting automation
•    Proactively onboard, train, upskill and support colleagues within expertise area
•    Taking part in transitions, system migration, optimization, and improvements of RTR processes 
•    Overseeing accounting operations based on accounting principles
•    Keeping information confidential and secure them with database backups
•    Proactively keeping up with financial policies, regulations, and legislation for area of responsibility
•    Working independently daily in SAP and related systems with little supervision
•    Understanding how own area of responsibility ties together with rest of organization
•    Performing tasks with end customers in mind
•    Continuously aligning tasks and priorities with nearest manager proactively
•    Performing independently various ad hoc tasks assigned by manager from time to time
•    Cooperating with other finance and non-finance departments as well as group stakeholders with an open mind and an eye for synergies
•    Consistently meeting individual and team KPIs 

 

Experience and skills required:

•    University degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
•    Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role
•    Very good knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
•    Strong communication skills; clear, delicate, and explaining finance for non-finance people
•    Good command of spoken and written English is a must. Other language skills are considered a plus
•    MS Excel and SAP experience required
•    Well organized and able to work to deadlines
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and documented process improvement experiences
•    Previous experience from shared service centers is an advantage
