The team

The Account Manager role will be part of the Regional Sales team together with 6 other colleagues in Oterra. Our headquarter has doubled in size over the last year and will continue to grow in the years to come, representing the global organisation we support. In Oterra we have colleagues from across the whole world like Australia, the UK, Bulgaria, Peru, Germany, the US, and Mexico just to name a few. Your day-to-day work will primarily be focused on sales development within Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

The role

We are looking for a Senior Sales Representative to support our growth agenda with strong technical background. The successful candidate is a self-starter, knows what good looks like, and is a problem-solver with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. We are looking for someone who can work independently, but also as part of the team. This is a remote position and we prefer that you are based in Germany or Austria. Our head office in Germany is based in Nienburg.

 

What you will be doing:

• Selling Oterra’s products to customers and distributors for the respective assigned customers.

• Map individual customers in their own customer portfolio (sites, production, people, opportunities)

• Plan and execute customer activities, including visits, trials, innovation days, etc

• Build and maintain multi-level contacts across all accounts on a local level

• Develop long-term customer plans for the main accounts in collaboration with Business Manager

• Support and enter information to the best knowledge to support the demand planning

• Providing technical advice regarding the proper use and adaptation of products to the production technology of the customer

• Defining sales channels and processing structures in accordance with business criteria; organising or independently implementing sufficient support for agencies or traders to successfully optimise market potential.

 

Who are we looking for?

We need an additional team player, who has the resources to strengthen the image of Oterra as a reliable supplier of high-quality natural colours for the food industry. We are looking for a person that is motivated by working with people. The right candidate will have high standards, strong communication skills, and the ability to develop relationships. Other soft skills we really appreciate are being resilient, collaborative, and having a good sense of humour.

 

Key attributes to succeed:

• Higher education degree or equivalent (B.A/M.Sc)

• Previous technical sales experience of 5 years or more, experience in a B2B environment

• Ability to learn and understand the product portfolio and application markets.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

• Proficient in CRM systems, preferably SalesForce® 

• Fluency in written and spoken English

• Demonstrated experience in Food & Beverage

• People’s skills
