Demand Planner

General Summary

The Demand Planner is responsible for creation and maintaining the long term demand plan for NOAM, through collaboration and challenge with the sale team. This role involves forecasting demand, managing the S&OP demand review process, and intergrading the constraints defined during the executive review. The Demand Planner works closely with cross-functional teams such as sales, supply chain, and sourcing to ensure that demand plan is optimized, resulting in a balanced inventory and OTIF result. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to defend and align by leverage data.

 

Principal Duties And Responsibilities 

  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation.
  • Review and articulate historical sales trends, research demand drivers, and prepare forecast data and monthly demand review.
  • Understand when statistical models can be leveraged or human intervention required.
  • Ability to develop new item forecasts.
  • Interact with sales, supply chain, and new product development teams to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Utilize a collaborative approach to ensure current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Lead the monthly regional Sales and Operations Demand Planning (S&OP) process and attend other required S&OP meetings.
  • Develop, maintain, and evaluate metrics, dashboards, reports, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure accuracy and optimal results
  • Extract and integrate data from multiple sources using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SAP, and IBP.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence tools for ad hoc analysis and reporting.
  • Analyze data to provide detailed analysis supporting decision-making initiatives.
  • Ability to capture assumptions used and articulate impacts on demand plan. 
  • Research, implement, and drive continuous improvement in demand planning processes through collaboration with local SCM and GPO.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Demand Planning, Supply Chain OR equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  2. Professional experience as an Analyst in Sales, Business, or Operations analysis in manufacturing or distribution.
  3. Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and SAP/IBP system software.
  4. Strong skills in forecasting methodologies.
  5. Ability todeliver presentations to stakeholders .
  6. Strong understanding of Business Analytics and Reporting principles.
  7. Strong analytical capability and demonstrated ability to collect date, research, and identify problems.
  8. Strong logic skills with common sense approach and good judgment.
  9. Ability to utilize data through chart/graphs in order to tell the story and align key stakeholders from lower levels to C suite
  10. CPF certification preferred and CPIM Certification is a plus

 

Working Conditions

Working environment is generally favorable and in an office setting   Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate.  Generally sedentary work but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of work time.  On-call work may be required. Travel may be required up to 20% of working time.

 

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, keyboard and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.  Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
