Warehouse Manager

General Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for evaluating and coordinating activities of workers engaged in receiving, transporting, stocking, order filling, picking raw materials, shipping, and maintaining stock records. They will supervise 6+ direct reports. They must support existing policies and procedures and recommend improvements in both areas as well as in methods, equipment, and working conditions.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities 

  • Evaluate and ensure shipment schedule is met.
  • Supervise the delivery of materials and supplies to all departments upon schedule and/or request.
  • Supervise the shipment of materials and supplies from all departments and or interplant/warehouse shipments.
  • Supervise warehousing and storage of all materials.
  • Ensure accuracy of all material movement documentation.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct cycle count inventory processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
  • Notify planning/purchasing of shortages or other problems that could impact product availability.
  • Develop members of your team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports to ensure a well-qualified and motivated department.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Candidates must be a proven change manager with a strategic approach, with at least five years of experience in warehousing and supply chain logistics.
  • Candidates should also have experience in distribution laws, space optimization, warehouse layout, reporting and business analysis.
  • Candidates must have 5 -10 years of warehouse management experience.
  • Candidate must have warehouse management software expertise and ERP experience. SAP experience is preferred.

 

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Working environment is generally favorable and split between office and warehouse settings. Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate in Oterra setting, but may require additional accommodations when working in the warehouse. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, keyboard and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
